Identify Nail Fungus through its Symptoms

Onychomycosis is commonly known as nail fungus and can affect the nail in the toe or even the fingers. There are different types of fungus that cause the infection, but the evident symptoms will always be the same. The first manifestation of this fungal infection will be in the form of a yellow or while dot on the nail and this when left unattended will grow on the nail. If you have a light discoloration of the nail and you notice yellow, white to brown colour substance under your nail, then be assured that this is nail fungus. They usually have a foul smell. If you notice that there is a foul smell on removing the shoe, then do check for fungal infection. The nail also becomes thick and in certain cases is painful too. Some people disregard toenail infection and leave it unattended and in some cases it even lead to severe cases.
